About the Role
Our Richmond warehouse is the heart of our West Coast operations, handling thousands of premium Japanese food products daily. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to join our warehouse team and help ensure that every order is picked, packed, and shipped with the care that our products deserve.
This role involves working in temperature-controlled environments (including cold storage at 0-4°C and freezer areas at -20°C). You will be part of a diverse, multicultural team that takes pride in handling some of the finest Japanese ingredients available in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments of Japanese food products
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specifications
- Maintain organized inventory in temperature-controlled storage areas
- Operate pallet jacks and assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks
- Follow food safety and HACCP protocols at all times
- Perform regular inventory counts and report discrepancies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas
- Assist with quality checks on perishable products
Qualifications
- 1Ability to work in cold environments (0°C to -20°C) for extended periods
- 2Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- 3Reliable, punctual, and able to start work at 6:00 AM
- 4Basic English communication skills
- 5Legal authorization to work in Canada (including working holiday visa)
- 6Attention to detail and commitment to food safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse or distribution center experience
- Forklift certification (training can be provided)
- Experience handling perishable or frozen food products
- Japanese language ability (helpful but not required)
- Knowledge of HACCP or food safety procedures
